Friday’s edition of the Great Bend Tribune will include a 32-page magazine celebrating the Kansas Oil & Gas Hall of Fame inductees of 2021.
Eleven individuals will be honored Saturday at the Kansas Oil and Gas Museum Foundation’s induction ceremony and dinner at the Great Bend Events Center. They are: John O. Farmer III, Cecil O’Brate, Kirk Rundle, R.A. (Dick) Schremmer, Gene Zaid, Kenneth Link, George E. Miller Jr., J.C. Musgrove, Pierce Musgrove, Barbara Wingfield van den Berg Oringderff and James C. Remsberg.
These awards are given to members of the Kansas oil and gas community who are selected by a nomination process. Hall of Fame recipients are chosen for their dedication to and participation in the betterment of the industry, and also for their involvement and service to church, school and civic organizations.
The Kansas Oil and Gas Museum Foundation was founded in 1990 by a group interested in preserving the history of the oil and gas industry. A tour of the Hall of Fame and Museum, 5944 10th St., Great Bend, provides lessons on the various phases of oil and gas production - from geology and drilling to production and product manufacturing. There will be an open house at the museum this Saturday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Hall of Fame features portraits and biographies of local and state inductees, which will total 93 with the latest inductees. It is funded 100 percent by donations and memberships.
