NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio – North Ridgeville Mayor Kevin Corcoran campaigned on efforts to attract new business to the city. He noted they are regularly receiving calls at city hall by interested parties.
“We are taking an active role in reaching out to and meeting with prospective businesses to promote North Ridgeville as a viable location,” Corcoran said recently. "We make recommendations of possible locations within the city and assist with making the proper connections with the property owners.
He also noted the city is open to offering incentives.
“We also have the ability to offer incentives subject to program eligibility, availability and approval by required parties to the business to make our city more desirable,” he said. “These include, but are not limited to tax abatement, tax increment financing and other incentives such as job creation tax credits and low interest loans for equipment. There are also county and state initiatives that may also be considered when making the decision to locate to North Ridgeville. We are proactive in our pursuit to bring businesses to our city.”
Columbia Gas Survey during November
The Columbia Gas is conducting GPS surveying work in the city throughout the month of November. Corcoran said, “You may notice contractors from Bowman in the area using equipment mounted on a tripod to record the location of natural gas lines. This helps Columbia Gas enhance its emergency response capabilities and also prevents damages typically caused by unsafe digging practices.”
He noted the work will not require entry into homes or businesses and natural gas services in either will not be affected.
Bids open for water main replacement
Proposals for a water main replacement on Stoney Ridge Road are being accepted at city hall until 11 a.m., Nov. 17.
The work involves the replacement 2,720 feet of an eight-inch water main. Requirements for bids are on file in the city engineer’s office or online. For questions email to: bidinquiries@nridgeville.org.
