Four homes in East Erie were evacuated because of a gas leak Saturday night
It happened around 8:30 on the 400 block of East 38th Street, across from Mercyhurst University and St. Luke's School.
Emergency crews on the scene said the leak came from an underground line, so the line would need to be dug up.
Traffic was shut down because of the leak.
