A juvenile driver is OK after clipping a gas meter in Americus on Saturday night.
The incident happened shortly after 10 pm in the 200 block of Second Street. Lyon County Deputy Jim Baker says the juvenile was driving a pickup in the alley and hit the meter for currently unlisted reasons. The driver is not being named and was not hurt.
Americus Fire and Black Hills Energy responded, with Black Hills shutting down the meter for repairs. A damage and impact report is pending. Lyon County Fire District 4, Emporia's rural unit, was called initially but was canceled before getting to Americus.
