SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) — A portion of US 176 near Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital is shut down due to a gas leak Thursday afternoon, according to Berkeley County government officials.
Officials alerted the public to the incident at 1:30 p.m.
At that time, they said there is a gas leak "in the area" and emergency crews are on scene.
People are asked to avoid the area.
