SAGINAW, MI -- Two people are dead after they were shot early Sunday morning outside a gas station on Saginaw’s east side.

Officers with the Saginaw Police Department responded shortly before 2:30 a.m. Sunday, July 19 to the parking lot of the Sunoco gas station, 1944 E. Genesee St., for a report of a shooting.

The victims -- a 19-year-old man and 22-year-old man -- had suffered gunshot wounds, police said.

The 19-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the 22-year-old man was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he later died, police said.

The Major Crimes Unit, consisting of Saginaw police and Michigan State Police detectives, are investigating the incident as a double homicide.

No suspects are in custody.
