Greene County detectives are trying to track down a man who used a stolen debit card at a couple of gas stations. On October 4, the victims reported someone had broken into their trucks in a neighborhood near West Bypass and West Battlefield. The thief smashed windows and stole a wallet from one vehicle.
Surveillance cameras at a Kum n Go gas station show a man on a bicycle arriving just before 4 a.m. on October 4th. The convenience store is just a half mile from the home on South Anabranch Boulevard where someone broke into the trucks and stole a wallet. The gas station security video shows a man enter the store and buy cigarettes and a drink. Investigators say he paid with one victim’s stolen debit card.
After the transaction goes through, the man then asks about scratchers and buys 15 of them using the same stolen debit card. The victims estimate it will cost $500 to repair the broken windows in their trucks. If you recognize the man or have any information, call the Greene County Tip Line at 417-829-6230.
