RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — Residents in the area of Cranleigh Drive in Reno were evacuated due to a gas leak Friday afternoon said the Reno Fire Department (RFD).
At approximately 4:29 p.m. on May 26, RFD crews responded to the neighborhood area of Cranleigh Drive. Investigation revealed that the gas leak was caused by an excavator digging and hit the gas pipe.
NV Energy responded to the scene and clamped the broken pipe. All houses were checked and ventilated before residents were able to return.
RFD said approximately six houses were evacuated, and they all safely returned to their homes.
